Did God Have You in Mind?

Vlada wept in the consul’s office.
The 35-year-old mother from Kharkiv, Ukraine, had just been handed visas for herself and her three young sons. Her youngest was born only months before the Russia–Ukraine war began. He has never known a peaceful sky. A drone blast had shattered the windows of their home. Her husband’s welding shop had been bombed, and for a time the family had almost nothing to eat. Today, her husband serves on the front lines. Vlada knew she had to bring her boys home to Israel, where her mother was waiting.
“My happiness knew no bounds,” she told us. “Everything worked out perfectly. We needed nothing.”
Vlada needed nothing because God had already gone before, providing through Christians like you. Bridges for Peace supporters helped cover her police clearance certificates and prepare the children for the journey. When a delay forced the family to leave Moldova before their consular check, we brought them back to Ukraine, found them shelter and then returned them across the border for their rescheduled appointment.
Vlada’s tearful thanks went to “all the sponsors.” That includes you.
The Question Behind the Promise
We often read the prophets with a holy anticipation. We come across God’s promise to gather His scattered people—given more than 60 times throughout the Old Testament—and think: “How wonderful! I can’t wait to see how He does it.”
But what if God gave those promises not only so we could watch, but so we could take part? What if, as He spoke to the prophets thousands of years ago, He already had in mind the human hands through which He would keep His word?
Listen to Isaiah: “Behold, I will lift My hand in an oath to the nations, and set up My standard for the peoples; they shall bring your sons in their arms, and your daughters shall be carried on their shoulders” (Isa. 49:22).
Notice who does the carrying. Not angels. Not governments. The nations. Christians from every corner of the earth. God’s promises to bring His people home carries an almost breathless invitation within it for us to partner with Him in the miraculous fulfillment.
So let me ask you this question: Could it be that God had you in mind when He spoke those words through Isaiah?
God’s Answer to an Ancient Hatred
Antisemitism is sweeping through the nations at a chilling rate. In cities across Europe, North America and beyond, Jewish families are asking the question their grandparents once asked in Europe: Is there still a future for us here?
Synagogues sit behind security barriers. Jewish students face harassment—and worse—on campus. And in Ukraine, war has uprooted Jewish communities that had endured for generations.
The world has no answer to a hatred this old. But God does. Long before the first pogrom, before the ghettos and the death camps, He declared that He would gather His people from every nation and bring them home. Aliyah (immigration to Israel) is not merely an escape. It is God’s answer, written in advance.
Even war has not stopped the homecoming. In 2025 alone, some 22,000 olim (new immigrants) arrived in Israel from 105 countries. Each one is a promise kept.
Every Step of the Way
For many, the road home is long, costly and frightening. Consider an elderly Jewish couple from Ukraine. When the war broke out, they fled to Poland as refugees. There, the husband suffered a stroke that left him with memory lapses and a slow recovery. Their children and grandchildren in Israel begged them to come. They wanted to, but they were afraid. How could they make such a journey in such poor health?
“We realized we wouldn’t be going through this alone,” they told us. And thanks to you, they didn’t have to.
Through a partner organization, we were able to retrieve their records from Ukrainian archives, help them obtain police clearance certificates and gather every document for their consular check. Financial assistance covered their travel to the consular office and their visas. “We were motivated, encouraged, advised and assisted at every step of the way,” they shared. “Thank you!”
Sarah made aliyah with her 69-year-old mother and her eldest daughter’s family. We located missing documents in the archives, explained every step and helped fund their travel to Moldova in time for their flight. “Thanks to you, I didn’t feel lost,” she said. The financial help, she added, was “like a lifesaver.”
Today, she has no doubts. “Coming to Israel was the best decision of my life.”
120,000 Prophecies Fulfilled
Over the years, Christians like you brought over 120,000 Jewish people home to Israel through Bridges for Peace.
Think about that number for a moment. That is 120,000 lives rescued from hatred, war and fear. It is 120,000 prophecies fulfilled, each one a living answer to the words God gave to His prophets. And each one was carried home, in part, by the gifts and prayers of believers who said yes to God’s invitation.
The next family is already waiting. The next elderly couple is gathering their documents. The next mother, filled with hope for her children, is packing a suitcase.
Your Place in the Story
This is why I am asking you to give to Project Rescue today.
Your gift will help Jewish families gather documents, secure clearances and visas, travel to consular offices and board the flight that ends their exile. It will tell a frail grandfather, a refugee far from home and a young mother whose husband is at the front that they are not making this journey alone.
God promised that His people would be carried home in the arms of the nations. Your arms can be among them. Will you take your place in the prophecy? Will you help carry the next son and daughter of Israel home?
Please give generously to Project Rescue today.
With joy and expectation,
