What Your Gift Provides:
Our Widows and Orphans Fund is part of Lifeline for Israel’s Needy.
Every gift becomes the love of God made tangible:
- Food on the table. Groceries delivered with dignity, so a mother carrying everything alone has one less burden.
- Comfort in mourning. Shiva baskets for families sitting shiva, the seven days of Jewish mourning, delivered by our Jerusalem team.
- A safe home. Repairs that a husband or father once handled, now done by our home repair team.
- Dignity through trusted partners. Support for local partners such as Carmei Ha’ir in Jerusalem, which serves people facing hardship, including the widow navigating life alone.

Your Gift at Work: Who Is Helped
Roman and Svetlana
In December 2014, Roman and Svetlana’s* son died in an accident. He left behind two small children, Anton and Dasha. Roman and Svetlana had made aliyah from Kiev years before. Now, in their later years, they took their grandchildren into their home to raise them. In 2016 they reached out to Bridges for Peace. Friends like you walked beside them for years, until Anton and Dasha finished high school and joined the army. Today the family still greets our team with a smile and a warm hug. You did not just meet a need. You stayed.
Tzipi
When her husband died suddenly 18 months ago, she was plunged into unimaginable darkness, facing crippling debt and the daunting reality of raising her four young sons alone. Grief was only the beginning. What followed was a daily fight just to survive. Because of Christians like you, Tzipi and her boys are going to make it.
The Orphans
Nearly 900 children have lost their fathers. Your donation helps surround these families with the warmth, encouragement and practical support that help children feel secure again, even in the shadow of loss.
Why It Matters
By June 2024, Israel reported that at least 260 women had been widowed since October 7, and nearly 600 children had lost their fathers. Thirty-five of those women were pregnant when their husbands died.
Each one became mother and father, provider and protector, overnight. They carry it with remarkable strength. And they do not carry it alone.
“A father of the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in His holy habitation.” Psalm 68:5

Keep the Comfort Coming
Thank you for standing with Israel’s widows and their children.
Will you help us be there for the next family who needs us?

“A father of the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in His holy habitation.”
Psalm 68:5
