Syrian Troops Press Siege of Hama; Death Toll Passes 100

In a statement, President Obama said, “The United States will continue to increase our pressure on the Syrian regime and work with others around the world to isolate the Asad government and stand with the Syrian people.”

The Obama administration has come under scathing criticism in the region for failing to provide the Syrian people with the same level of support that it gave to Egypt and Libya as they sought to oust Mubarak and Al-Qaddafi, respectively.
