Thursday, 8 December 2022 | The Special in Uniform’ program gives people with disabilities the chance to give back to their country in a role that is fit for their skills. Once they complete their training, they receive their soldier IDs and are placed in military bases across Israel, where they have an amazing opportunity to integrate with fellow soldiers and fulfill a meaningful service in the IDF [Israel Defense Forces].

Since the foundation of the program, thousands of young Israelis with disabilities have been given the opportunity to serve their country. The program has expanded from 50 participants to over 500, with an expectancy of 1,000 new participants in the upcoming year.

The IDF band is one of the various places where they can serve while pursuing their passions of singing and performing. These soldiers are proof that no matter who you are and what hardships you might face, there is always a way to do what you love.
