Friday 18 March 2016 | Editor’s note: The deadly wave of terror that began last September continues unabated. Since 13 September 2015, 34 people have been killed in terrorist attacks and 404 people (including 4 Palestinians) injured. There have been 206 stabbing attacks (including 66 attempted attacks), 83 shootings, and 42 vehicular (ramming) attacks. Since the writing of this article, a female IDF soldier was seriously wounded at a bus stop near Ariel on Thursday.
Two vehicular attacks took place within minutes Monday morning at a hitchhiking stop near the settlement of Kiryat Arba in the West Bank [Judea–Samaria]. Four IDF soldiers were lightly wounded and all three terrorists were shot dead.
The first vehicular attack was carried out by two armed terrorists who tried to run over Israelis who were waiting a hitchhiking stop near Elias Junction near Kiryat Arba. The terrorists also tried to shoot the people there. IDF soldiers guarding the stop shot and killed both terrorists. One soldier was lightly wounded from shrapnel.
The wounded soldier was treated by Magen David Adom Medics at the scene and was sent to Shaare Tsedek Medical Center in Jerusalem.
The terrorists were armed with a pistol and a Carl Gustaf submachine gun.
While soldiers were active at the scene of the attack another Palestinian car ran over an IDF officer and lightly wounded him.
The terrorist was shot to death. Two soldiers were lightly wounded by shrapnel.
