According to the IDF, the men said during their questioning that they had planned more attacks. Said the IDF statement, “Specifically they had begun following an Israeli civilian. Initially they had planned to kidnap him, until they had decided in favor of a shooting attack.”
The questioning of the suspects also led the Israelis to find the terror cell’s weapons cache, which not only included two M-16 assault rifles, but also a Light Anti-Tank Weapon rocket, night vision weapons equipment, an improvised TNT explosive device and more.
The shooting attack was one of multiple shooting terror attacks that took place in less than a month. The worst of the attacks killed four Israelis, one of them pregnant, in late August.
