Burt added that, “We consider Hizbullah’s commitment to armed resistance as unacceptable and we don’t support it.”
The Media Line has reported that the American administration has not taken a position opposing Hizbullah’s presence in the Lebanese government even though the government has flouted UN Security Council Resolution 1701 which ended the 2006 war between Israel and Hizbullah by legitimizing the terrorist group’s arsenal including an estimated 45,000 missiles. The resolution clearly prohibits the government from permitting any non-governmental organization from bearing arms.
