The Car That Makes Its Own Fuel

Engineuity R&D Ltd. has offered technology, which uses a light metal wire (i.e. aluminum and magnesium), water, and a special conversion unit. The company has succeeded in producing a continuous flow of hydrogen and steam under full pressure, temperature, and power control. The hydrogen and steam power a modified internal-combustion engine. The same production unit can also be used for producing hydrogen for fuel cells and other applications requiring hydrogen and/or steam.

Professor Yogev spoke with me on Israel Mosaic Radio (www.bridgesforpeace.com) and said this technology overcomes the problem of diminishing oil resources. It also deals with the severe problem of the greenhouse effect. The spent product from the Engineuity process is a light metal oxide that is eventually separated and sent back to the factory for electrochemical recycling. This technology also ensures no CO2 is released into the atmosphere.

Now that the technology has been proven, Engineuity is working on the integration of its production unit with a modified engine. Prof. Yogev told me that cars using this process will look the same as they do now. The engine, he said, can be produced in existing production lines, avoiding huge financial investment in new infrastructures.

With this new technology, we would be able to fuel up at power stations or even in department stores, as the fuel does not smell.  For refueling, the vehicle will contain a mechanism for rolling the metal wire into a coil during the process. The spent metal oxide, which was produced in the previous phase, is collected from the car by vacuum suction.

When I asked if vehicle manufacturers would oppose the new technology, he said, they would have no option but to embrace the chance of removing the worldwide dependency on oil. His time frame was three years, and the next development stage requires a US $3 million investment.
