Though there are many Hanukkah songs, this is the most universally sung because it is part of the Jewish prayer book, sung by all in synagogues and homes after the lighting of the candles. Here is one modern-day translation of the first stanza, often the only one sung.
Rock of Ages, let our song praise Your saving power.
You amid the raging throng were our sheltering tower.
Furious they assailed us, but Your help availed us.
And Your word broke their sword when our own strength failed us.
