The IDF has struck approximately 150 terror targets in Gaza in response to the rocket attacks.

Tuesday, 13 November 2018 | Overnight [Monday–Tuesday], IAF fighter jets targeted dozens of additional Hamas and PIJ [Palestinian Islamic Jihad] military targets throughout the Gaza Strip. As of now, the IAF [Israeli Air Force] has struck approximately 150 military targets belonging to Hamas and the PIJ terror organizations, including three governmental structures that were used for military purposes

At this time, the IAF’s strikes on Hamas and PIJ military targets are still ongoing: IAF aircraft, fighter jets and attack helicopters recently completed an additional strike on approximately 50 Hamas and PIJ military targets in the Gaza Strip.

Among the sites struck are Hamas military targets, including an offensive terror tunnel in Darj, four military compounds in Gaza City, Beit Hanoun, Jabalia and Khan Yunis, and a military post used for launching rockets from Khan Yunis at Israel. In addition, among the sites struck are PIJ targets, including two military compounds in Khan Yunis and military compounds in Deir al-Balah and Tel al-Hawa.

Over the last hour, the IAF targeted a storage warehouse in Khan Yunis, a military compound in Zaytun and a weapons manufacturing site in Sheik Omdan. In addition, the Israeli Navy targeted a unique vessel belonging to Hamas’ naval forces in the Nuseirat Harbor of the southern Gaza Strip.

Throughout the night (from 10.00 p.m. to 5.30 a.m. according to Israel’s time zone), approximately 70 rockets were launched from Gaza at Israel. Dozens of rockets were intercepted by the “Iron Dome” aerial defense system. Since Gaza terror organizations began their widespread attack on Israeli civilians, approximately 100 of approximately 370 rockets were intercepted by “Iron Dome” combatants.

One of the governmental structures struck by the IAF was Hamas’ interior security headquarters in the Rimal Neighborhood. The headquarters is a high rise building which is disguised as the “Al-Amal” hotel and was taken over by Hamas towards the end of operation “Protective Edge.” The building is used for military purposes and serves Gaza’s interior security administration. The headquarters leads continuing attempts to carry out terror attacks against Israel.

The building is located in the Rimal Neighborhood, at the center of a populated area and is adjacent to a branch of the Palestinian Health Ministry, a regional clinic and a diplomatic representative.

The ongoing strikes that are being carried out by the IAF in the Gaza Strip are in response to the severe terror attack of rockets and mortars fired from Gaza at Israeli territory. The IDF [Israel Defense Forces] is determined to continue protecting Israeli civilians and is prepared for a wide variety of scenarios as necessary. The IDF views these continued attacks with great severity and holds the Hamas terror organization responsible for all events transpiring in the Gaza Strip and emanating from it. Hamas will bear the consequences for its actions.

Bridges for Peace helps the communities close to the Gaza border. In the past we have provided for bomb shelters and firefighting equipment, as well as our weekly food deliveries. Your donation will allow us to provide much needed emergency assistance for innocent Israelis during these attacks.
