A four year old boy sitting in his parents’ car was lightly wounded when a Kassam rocket fell in a Negev community on the afternoon of April 21. During the day, Palestinians fired six Kassam rockets at the western Negev.
The Arad family had just returned to their home after spending the Pesach [Passover] holiday with relatives in Rosh Hanikra, where they sought a few days respite from the constant rocket attacks. The Kassam rocket exploded near the vehicle damaging a nearby building.
Shrapnel penetrated the car body near the fuel tank and wounded the boy who was sitting in the back seat. A Magen David Adom crew treated the boy who was then taken to the Barzilai Hospital in Ashkelon. Minutes prior to the attack a Kassam rocket landed in an open area in the Negev, there were no reports of injuries or damages.
