As the ugly menace of anti-Semitism rises again in France, Denmark and Ukraine, many are calling for the Jews of Europe to come home to Israel. Prime Minister Netanyahu has led the charge! “Jews have been murdered again on European soil only because they were Jews,” Mr. Netanyahu said after an attack in Copenhagen.

After the violent assaults and killings in Paris, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu again issued an invitation, “Israel is waiting for you with open arms.” Later, in a strong appeal to European Jewry, Netanyahu said, “We are preparing and calling for the absorption of mass immigration from Europe…I would like to tell all European Jews and all Jews wherever they are: ‘Israel is the home of every Jew.’”

Netanyahu doesn’t stand alone. Israel’s government from the very beginning has encouraged the Jewish people to come home to Israel. The Israeli government website emphatically states: “The ingathering of the exiles to their ancestral homeland is the raison d’être of the State of Israel.”

Netanyahu, like most Jewish people, has personal history which makes him feel a sense of urgency. In a video on his Facebook page, Mr. Netanyahu gives a personal account of how important immigration to Israel has been for Europe’s Jews. Looking directly at the camera, Mr. Netanyahu tells the story of how his grandfather was beaten unconscious by an anti-Semitic mob at a train station “in the heart of Europe” at the end of the 19th century.

“He pledged to himself that if he survived the night he would bring his family to the land of Israel and help build a new future for the Jewish people in its land,” Mr. Netanyahu said, adding, “I am standing here today as the prime minister of Israel because my grandfather kept his promise.”

The prime minister is calling his people to come home. I hear his heart, and my heart beats in chorus. We must redouble our efforts to help the Jewish people come home! I am especially concerned about the Jewish population of eastern Ukraine.

Jewish People Flee Eastern Ukraine

This week we welcomed two Jewish ladies from Donetsk. In tears they told us that they were the last ones able to fly out of their airport. The airport is now in rebel hands.

The war in eastern Ukraine has continued to intensify since its beginning in April 2014.

Donetsk and Lugansk are the two cities hit hardest by the fighting and their citizens are fleeing the total devastation caused by war. There are no functioning utilities, no pensions, no banking, empty store shelves, freezing temperatures and no infrastructure in place to help those still trying to live in bombed-out apartments. The situation is a scene of suffering humanity.

It is impossible to know how many of those remaining are Jewish and how many of the more than 5,000 who have already been killed were Jewish.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is calling for a “massive immigration” of Jews living around the world to come home to Israel. With anti-Semitism sweeping the globe, he believes that the only safe place for Jews is in the land of the Jews where a Jewish army defends the nation and people.

Project Rescue is at the forefront, helping thousands of Jewish people escape their war-torn homes and depart for a new life in Israel.

At present, Project Rescue, in cooperation with other organizations, is renting a Safe Facility” in a pine forest on the edge of Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine. It is here that our representatives and drivers bring the rescued to be cared for until the day of their departure for Israel. Most of these Jewish refugees are coming out of the war zone with only the clothes on their backs. This is a very costly project but it is one that must be successful for the preservation of Jewish lives.

Project Rescue’s drivers and representatives are truly modern-day Corrie Ten Booms, righteous Gentiles who risk their lives every day going in and out of the war zone to rescue Jewish families.

Before it is too Late

Prime Minister Netanyahu feels an urgency to bring his people home. I am convinced he is hearing the voice of God. I, too, feel urgency in my spirit. God is calling to His people, “Come home!” I am asking you to be part of this great initiative. We can partner with God in this great aliyah [immigration to Israel]. No gift is too large or too small. Together we can be part of the fulfillment of Bible prophecy. “For thus says the LORD: ‘Sing with gladness for Jacob, and shout among the chief of the nations; proclaim, give praise, and say, “O LORD, save Your people, the remnant of Israel!” Behold, I will bring them from the north country, and gather them from the ends of the earth…’” (Jer. 31:7–8).
