Feed My Lambs, Feed My Sheep

Yeshua (Jesus) said, “I am the good shepherd” (John 10:11a). A shepherd in biblical times spent his life with the sheep, making sure they were fed, protected, and sheltered. In the last recorded conversation between Yeshua and Peter, Yeshua asked Peter three times if he loved Him, and then directed him to “feed My lambs…tend My sheep…feed My sheep” (John 21:15–17). How like Yeshua, who was so often moved with compassion when He saw the needs of the people.

Today, at Bridges for Peace, we hear His words echoing across the centuries into our hearts saying, “Feed My sheep.” He is saying to us, “If you truly love Me, then take care of My sheep.” Surely His heart is moved with compassion as He sees the needs of His beloved Jewish people.

Does your heart beat faster as you think of the elderly Jews of the former Soviet Union, many of whom will only eat if we can provide for them? Please ask the Lord how He wants you to help. No gift is too small. Together we can make a difference in the lives of many.

“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want” (Psalm 23:1).
